Affordable Energy in Aurora, Illinois

by Donny on March 9, 2011

Aurora, Illinois’ population of nearly 198,000 makes it the second most populous city in Illinois, coming right after Chicago and right before Rockford.

One thing unique about the city is that it’s part of four separate counties. It’s also located about 45 miles southwest of the Windy City.

Another unique aspect is the fact it has been nicknamed the “City of Lights.”

The name was given in 1908 because it was one of the first cities in the United States to use all-electric street signs in 1881.

Citizens today have taken their City of Lights to a new level.

Illinois joined a handful of other states to have become deregulated which means its citizens have the right and the ability to choose the most affordable electricity rates and providers for their commercial business.

If you are in the Aurora area or another deregulated area in the state, just type your zip code into our compare box to see what deals are near you.

After you do this, if you still have any further questions or comments, please feel free to give us a call anytime at 1-800-971-4020 to speak to one of our expert energy consultants.

The downtown area of Aurora serves as home to the Paramount Theater which was one of the locations in the movie Public Enemies.

Aurora was also the home town for the main characters of Wayne’s World and the hit TV show Prison Break makes several references to it as well.
