Elizabeth, NJ Electricity

by Donny on April 22, 2011

Elizabeth, NJ has a population of about 120,568, making it the fourth-most populous city in its state. The three larger New Jersey Cities are Newark, Jersey City and Paterson.

It’s located in Union County, about six miles south of Newark, 11 miles southwest of Jersey City and about 15 miles southwest of The Big Apple.

For a brief period of time, Elizabeth served as the state capital before Trenton took over in 1790.

In 1895, residents saw the town’s first car company go up when the Electric Carriage and Wagon Company was founded to manufacture the “Electrobat.”

That’s pretty fitting seeing as eventually the whole country will be driving electric cars, but until that happens, residents can now enjoy the right and the ability to choose the most affordable electricity rates and providers for their commercial businesses.

New Jersey is among several other states to have become deregulated, giving Elizabeth residents the option of shopping and comparing rates before choosing the best option.
