Affordable Energy in Mesquite, TX

by Donny on May 2, 2011

The Dallas-suburban area is blooming as many towns are experiencing significant growth. Among these towns is Mesquite, Texas.

Its population of 136,750 makes it one of the fastest-growing cities in the entire state.

Mesquite has something for everyone, including its AMC 30 movie theater which holds up to 30 screens and can seat up to about 6.092 people.

The town has earned the nickname “The Rodeo Capital of Texas” and serves as home to the headquarters for Microsoft, UPS and other major companies.

All these factors are major benefits to local citizens as is the fact they have the right and the ability to choose the most affordable electricity rates in the area.

It was about 10 years ago that Texas became a deregulated state, giving Texans throughout the state the right to shop and compare electricity companies and prices and then signing up with the one that best fits the situation.

To begin, simply type your zip code into our compare box and choose whether you want commercial or residential. If you’re looking for a long-term-residential rate, be sure to select a fixed rate because you’ll have a better idea of what to expect from month-to-month.

Mesquite was founded in 1873 by a Texas and Pacific Railway engineer who decided it was a good idea to center the town around the railway which ran from Dallas to Shreveport.

Locals took advantage by using the railway to transport goods and the city began to expand significantly.
